Frontlines: Fuel of War

Ah! My first blog. My name is Garrett, username AcepilotF14, rawr! In this blog I'll be reviewing different game from past and present, and maybe even covering previews of certain games. Anyway, for this first review, I'll be covering Frontlines: Fuel of War. (Xbox360 version)
Frontlines is based in a near future where several superpowers (The Coalition, America and Europe, and the Red Star Alliance, China and Russia) are fighting over fuel, which this grim future has very little of. Anyway, now, I'm pretty good at first-person shooters, so on Normal the game wasn't all that challenging. The single-player aspect of the game is surprisingly similiar to the multi-player aspect. You must complete objectives like destroying anti-air guns or capturing control points to move the front lines forward. Although most of the time in SP, the AI doesn't take back objectives unlike the continually shifting frontlines in multiplayer, it does happen occasionally. I found the game fairly fun on an infantry level, and the Heavy Assault class is my favorite. I found sniper lacking a bit. Vehicles are pretty fun to drive, and there are quite a variety online. Most are the basic tanks, APC's, Mechanized Infatry(woo! mini-cannons+rockets!) Flak guns, and of course jeeps. Helicopters are VERY fun to pilot. The jets have a meh control scheme, and the maps just aren't big enough to really use them effectively. I'm sure it would be easier to use them on a PC with a joystick. Now, while singleplayer lasted about 12 hours on normal with very little dying, multiplayer is a different picture. Surprisingly, even with 50+ people there isn't horrible lag(although there is still some.), and everything works pretty well. I joined a map with 54 people in it, and had a blast. Jets, while hard to fly normally, get even harder to fly in even moderate lag. It's a fresh change from TF2 or Battlefield, but isn't really something I could come back to in a few years time. Unless you can't play Battlefield on your PC(since the 360 version sucks bawls.) or need a good large-scale team objective-based shooter, I'd suggest a rent and play with some friends.

tl;dr- Good game with great multiplayer but a meh single player.

Summary:
Story: 7/10 Moar oil, plz!
Sfx: 9/10 Gunfire from across the map sounds awesome, as do sniper bolts!
Graphics: 9/10 Good for a multiplayer based game.
Single Player: 6/10 Feels like most other games.
Multi Player: 9/10 Awesome.
Gameplay: 8/10 Feels like most other shooters. :(

Overall: 8/10
